Published quarterly by a volunteer collective in Vancouver, Room is a showcase of original, thought-provoking fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, art, and interviews that reflect women’s strength, sensuality, vulnerability, and wit. Our original name, Room of One’s Own, came from Virginia Woolf’s reference to women needing a room of their own in which to write. Our new shortened name both alludes to our past and looks forward to a future in which we can continue to reflect women’s points of view and creativity. Room is more than just a literary journal; it is a community of women connecting in a space of our own. Support over 30 years of fiction, poetry, essays, reviews, and art relevant to the female experience. Prices are individual rates; institutions are not eligible for these prices.
